Owners Meeting Update: Speakers, Motions & amendments

The Board has a rental agreement with the Arlington Woods Free Methodist Church, for the Owners Meeting on August 20, 2024. Rob became aware of the name of one organizer and reached out to gain some insight as to the Owners procedural intentions and expectations. Rob shared with the Owner that the Board was in the dark, not knowing if Unit Owners intended to speak as individuals, a single representative group or a few individual groups with different perspectives.
Rob was informed that some folks wanted just simply vote down the new rules, others would like to return to the Resident’s Handbook and so forth. Rob came to understand that a goodly number of Owners had yet to read or understood the CAT Award.
Following considerable discussion, Rob inquired of the Owner whether the organizers would be open to a Board motion to revisit the adopted Rules in the form of a work group comprised of a couple of Owner representatives and a couple of Board members. The Owner thought it would be a good idea and was comfortable with feeling out her organizer members on a “what if…”
Rob suggested that the timing of a proposal would be dictated largely by the measure of the Meeting as it unfolds.
The Owner organizer understood and agreed, and remained confident that others would be open, positively to the idea.
